SLOTH BOX:
CALL FOR ART
Welcome to the Sloth Box: our community fuelled, 100% free, always-open submission space.
If this is your first time on the site - ArtSloth is an Independent Contemporary Art Magazine and Publication run By, and For Artists. This, here, is our permanent, quiet space for shared experiences. There are no deadlines or themes - just a direct invitation to share your artistic pursuits and your story when it's ready to be told.
We ask only for your intentionality: give us your authentic words and the messy reality of your craft. In return, we provide a merit-based home for your art in our global archive, digital volumes, and upcoming print editions.
WHAT YOU'RE APPLYING FOR..

OPEN CALL GUIDELINES
This is a free and direct publication opportunity for artists, and requires you to fill in an interview questionnaire. Be authentic, and tell us your narrative. We’re looking for quirky creatives, authentic stories and evocative visuals that capture the pulse of your studio.
STEP 1
Review:
Review the terms and guidelines and pick a questionnaire that best describes your creative pursuits, ambitions and philosophies.
STEP 2
Prepare:
Organise your best work and photos into a Public Google Drive or Dropbox link. Refresh your bio so it's ready to share with our global community.
STEP 3
Submit:
Grab a coffee, give yourself 15-20 minutes, open the sloth box form, and tell us your lived authentic story. Double-check your social handles and contact details so we can credit you when your work goes live!

THE NON-NEGOTIABLES:
-
18+ and Wise: You’re an adult navigating the messy reality of an art career.
-
Proof of Obsession: You have a visible body of work (IG or Website) that proves you’re actually doing the work, not just talking about it.
-
The Current You: We want the pulse of your studio now. Keep it fresh, nothing older than three years.
-
Technical Integrity: All mediums, including digital art are welcome, provided they are hand-made and show a commitment to the craft. AI art is not entertained.
We highly recommend giving the fine print a look over before sending your work through. As Artists, we recognise how important it is to have full control of the art you create
THE STUDIO STANDARD:
-
The Visuals: Send 6+ high-res images (JPEGs/PNGs). We love a deep dive, so aim for 10-14 shots so we can curate a better spread. Include 2 shots of your studio or process; we want to see the art, the artist, and the chaos.
-
The Delivery: Drop a public Google Drive or Dropbox link. Make sure permissions are set to "Anyone with the link" so we don't have to hunt you down for access.
-
The Narrative: Pick one of our six questionnaires. Be honest and thorough. One-sentence answers don't give us enough to tell your story.
-
The Cost: $0, Now and Always. We never charge artists for features. Curation is 100% merit-based.
